Ni Zha 2 continues the journey of the rebellious boy-god Ni Zha after he sacrifices himself to save Chentang Pass. Though his physical body is destroyed, his spirit survives, and Master Taiyi begins the risky process of rebuilding Ni Zha’s body using the Sacred Lotus. At the same time, Ao Bing, the Dragon King’s son, also exists only as a soul after their shared fate in the previous battle.

As the reconstruction nears completion, new threats emerge from the Heavenly Realm. The gods, who never fully trusted Ni Zha, see his rebirth as a danger to cosmic order. Meanwhile, the Dragon Clan faces punishment for Ao Bing’s past actions, pushing the world toward another devastating conflict.

Ni Zha struggles with anger, guilt, and the fear that his destiny is already written. He must decide whether to fight the heavens again or find a new path that breaks the cycle of hatred. Alongside Ao Bing, he learns that true power lies not in defying fate blindly, but in choosing compassion and responsibility.

In the climax, Ni Zha confronts both the gods and his own inner demons, proving that one’s birth does not define one’s future. The film ends with Ni Zha forging a new destiny—one built on choice, courage, and balance between mortals and gods.
